Allow me to provide an honest answer. We DO indeed cry. But, to retain any sort of manliness that's been passed through the generations, we have sort of an unspoken law. The passing of a loved one, friend, or even a pet; winning a major accolade; or when you're just so emotionally broken. Best thing for society to do is to give a shoulder to cry on & a listening ear.
I've seen my husband cry on different occasions — when the pain gets too unbearable. I've always been privileged to share these moments with him because I'm sure he hardly shares with other people. But this is how he releases his pain, gets up and keeps fighting. This is how he keeps moving forward and showing up.

Your last sentence summed it up. Men need that safe place.

Thank you for sharing this.
That, right there, is real man.
Thanks for being there for him in such moments. God bless you.
A little cry won’t hurt.
Thanks for this.
Yeah, it doesn't hurt. It frees.
You're welcome, bro.
Powerful. If I didn't allow myself to cry I wouldn't be here. On overwhelming days, I cry. I sleep.
Let the tears roll, if you need to. We are human too.
