i disappeared... but not without good reason

Here's where I've been, and why what’s coming next will be worth the wait.

Dearest Gentle Reader,

Whew!

It's been a minute, hasn’t it?

You probably noticed your inbox has been unusually quiet on my end. The last time I sent out a newsletter was on the first of July; and before that, June was a full-blown marathon. I wrote (nearly) every single day throughout that month for the Men's Mental Health Awareness series.

My keyboard begged for mercy. My brain went on strike a couple times. And my emotions were doing gymnastics I didn’t sign up for. Lol.

So when July came around, I took a deep breath... and a deliberate break.

No, no, no, I didn't fall out of love with writing. I needed to refill my creativity tank. Life has been coming at me with a full marching band in the form of projects, responsibilities, ideas, deadlines, etc… and I couldn’t hear myself think.

Between running Loopers Creative Agency, holding the reins at Ikike Arts and the publishing arm Poemify Publishers, and clocking in as a remote creative designer for the UK-based Join Momentum plus web manager for Nigeria-based Naija Liquor, Seta Fields, and Top Tech Visa, my calendar started to look like a puzzle with no edges.

Let’s just say my plate wasn’t full. Nah! It was overflowing and begging for a second table.

But even in the middle of the chaos, I miss writing here. I miss writing to you. I miss sitting in the toilet and tapping away on my keypad any thought that occupied my mind when I awake.

So yes, I’m back. But I’m not just returning with the same old rambles.

I’m coming with purpose.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been cooking.
